Clubmatch Duitsland juli 2005

Still happy about our success in Denmark, we drove with our caravan to the National in Germany to prove our luck there. In the middle of the night we took off, to Antje and Gernot in Bergwitz, Eastern Germany. We were able to park our caravan on a beautiful spot near to the Bergwitz Lake.

The next morning we drove another 2 hours to Schoningen, were the National was going to be held. Wen we arrived we soon saw a lot of familiar faces from Holland and Belgium and we could already taste ´ the bloodhound feeling ´ over there.

When our turn finally came up, our happiness got less; Jente didn't want to be touched by the judge. She thought he was a scary man because of his tie. She was rather impressed, although he did his best on getting her feeling more comfortable. Well, she ended on being 3 out of 4. He came to the conclusion that she was to big for her age. I could do nothing but agree on him because Jente is huge, for a bitch. She has enormous long legs and I think we just have to wait showing her until she matures a bit. Not a good result but we were not totally disappointed. We already saw ourselves that she doesn't have big failures but her length and height. We need to have a lot of patience with her and it is a pitty we cannot make her smaller.

After that, Elska came in the showring, entered in, of course, Veteran class. She did not want to move at all and limped with her front foot.

That ended in being listed 2 out off 2. No big failures as well but he said she was too fat. I agreed again but since we are feeding her green beans already we can't do a lot about that. We don't want that  old lady starving to death on her almost 10 years of age, so that'll be it for now.

After that we had a nice dinner together with al the bloodhound people in a beautiful restaurant and than we drove a long way back to our caravan.

Without trophy's this time.

A bit disappointing but maybe it will be better next time….

For now, we decided to not subscribe our 2 beautiful ladies again for shows.

That way they will be our best again.

In spite of it all, we had a wonderful holiday the next week in Bergwitz.
